This wild cha plu leaf (it is a different strand as well) was a revelation, completely different to its cultivated or domestic sister. It had a very crisp crunch and was not just slightly peppery. Sour flavor came through which we have never experienced before with its sister and astringentcy. Astringentcy removes saliva from the mouth which sharpens surrounding flavors. But slavia disperses flavors around the mouth, so you want something succulent in the ingredient profile #wild
